Poor...Poor Cynthia McKinney

Cynthia McKinney (D)-Georgia cannot help herself. She makes a lot of outlandish statements, coming across as an idiot, a racist, and misrepresenting her constituents on a regular basis. But because she is black, she has an excuse...at least to hear her tell it, she does. This latest display of her altercation with the Capitol police is nothing new to those who know her.

There are Americans who happen to be black, and then there are blacks who happen to be in America. McKinney is a member of the latter. McKinney is in good company. Her father is a state Representative in the Georgia legislature, and has himself been the subject of many controversies over the years. The general population in the state ignores him, and they also ignore his daughter. She has the distinction of being voted out of her Congressional office by a very well qualified opponent and former judge Denise Majett, who happens to be black and female...but did not dwell on either of those facts, as McKinney often does.

McKinney's father called Majett a 'nobody' when she entered the race against his daughter, and ultimately won. He responded to a question about his daughter's difficulty in that race by saying, "J-E-W-S". Unfortunately, political office holders are not elected because they possess intelligence, common sense, oratorical skills, or a sense of decency...at least not in the political districts discussed in this article.

As for the Capitol police allegations, McKinney should be charged with assault, as any other person would be. Congressional privilege does not extend that far. But if rightfully charged, be prepared for another press conference with McKinney, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton at the podium. Afterall, this group runs to the aid of other incompetent black politicians like Ray 'Chocolate City' Nagin in New Orleans. If you happen to see them appear on your television screen, simply change the channel and ignore them...that is what many of the voters in Georgia do.
